The County Durham Aerobic Digester, funded by CDENT is operated by Premier who manage this innovative project which is at the forefront of municipal waste recycling technology. The process has the capabilities to meet the demands of the ever-increasing problem of waste disposal and is the only plant of its type.
The plant takes mixed municipal waste direct from refuse collection
vehicles and processes this into both usable and recoverable products.
The digestion process simulates and accelerates the natural composting
process.
